Ipswich Tennis set to serve an Ace Summer

Ipswich Sports Club and Ipswich Borough Council have teamed up to create Tennis in the Park, offering exciting new tennis opportunities for all in Christchurch Park. Free and accessible tennis training will be available for people of all skills, as well as competitions for all ages.

British tennis star Elena Baltacha launched this new partnership in October last year and the sessions kick off this weekend, followed by the full programme which starts in March.

Councillor Judy Terry, portfolio holder for Arts, Culture & Leisure at the Borough Council, said, “This is an exciting programme and I am sure Elena will inspire people of all ages to improve their game. We look forward to working with Ipswich Sports Club and hope many people will come to the park.”

Paul Sheldrake from Ipswich Sports Club said,  "Ipswich Sports Club are extremely proud and excited to be involved in the parks tennis partnership. The unique park courts, so close to our club and set in wonderful grounds, are a fantastic opportunity for us to develop our community tennis programme at literally grass roots level. Tennis is a game for life, for everyone to enjoy, especially families. Facilities such as these, will in my opinion be the true stepping stones and future of British Tennis."
